Singapore will be hosting one of the largest and most exciting Bodybuilding and Physique Sports mega-event in September 2010. The mega-event, organised by the Singapore Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (“SBBF”) will see top-class athletes participating in:
• World Women Bodybuilding & World Men’s & Women’s Physique Sports Championships.
• Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championships.
• Southeast Asian Men’s Junior & Senior Bodybuilding Championships
This is the first time that such an event will be hosted in one host country, as previous events have been held separately in various countries. This mega-event is sanctioned and supported by the Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, as well as the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation.
This mega-event will be held over a 2 days period, from 2 to 3 October 2010 at the University Cultural Centre. It promises to be a first of its kind and has attracted great interests and fervent support internationally. Athletes from 28 countries (including those from Europe) will be competing head-to-head in the various categories. Over 120 top class athletes at the very best of their physical condition will showcase their magnificent physiques as they compete to be crowned the Champion.
The Pre-Judging will be held on 1 October 2010. Based on the preliminary rounds, the very finest and top contenders will then proceed to the Finals to be held on 2 & 3 October 2010. An international panel of highly qualified judges will assess and give their verdicts based on the criteria set by the sanctioning body – World Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Federations (WBPF)
“Bodybuilding fans in Singapore will have a chance to see international athletes, who have dedicated themselves to a strict regime of intense training and dieting, compete against each other at the highest level.
The last time such an event was held here was 20 years ago (the World Championship). We hope that the fans will come to lend support to the sport, as well as our national athletes who will do their best to make Singapore proud!”
Mr M Letchmenon, President, SBBF
